Today I learned that in Korea I’m actually 33 years old, instead of the 32 that I’ve been telling everyone. Koreans start counting 1 when one is a newborn. Which is why I’ve been so confused about my students’ ages—my fourth graders are 11-12, whereas in the U.S. fourth graders are 10-11.

But I’m sticking to my western age.

I think I'll stick to my western age, too.
Welcome Koreans! We are looking forward to getting to know more about you and your culture.
I agree with Ms. Pederson I guess I'll stick with my western age, too. Hello and welcome Koreans to our Global Learning Project I'm looking forward on meeting you and learning about your culture in South Korean. I really liked your pictures on Halloween Day, teachers, you looked awesome! I wonder how your school looks like from the outside? Because what I saw from the inside was awesome and I think that the outside would look awesome and beautiful as well.
Hey Korean friends,
My name is Ana, so if I was born at korea I would be 15 years old . I am real excited to be a part of this Global Learning Project and meeting new friends from all over the world .I have many questions for all you guys!!8)
I think I'll also stick to my western age as well. So if I was born in Korea, I would be right now 15 years old, and in about a month and a half I would be 16, wow, I don't think I would want my teenage years to be over quick. Does Korea do other things different from America?
Hello South Korean friends,
I think thats okay to be one year older but I also think I will stick to my age I am right now. I think you will get used to it later on. Why do they start counting when they are newly born? I am now fifthteen years old so is I was in South Korea I would be 16 I think that is not bad just a year older.
Hello, That is so cool that in South Korea you are one when you are born. So if I was I South Korea right know I could be 16.WOW!
Well I actually do like the age I have right know. What other exciting things is there in South Korea?
Thats freakoin awesome, if i was over there I could drive! thats intense! Because over here im 15 and I need to be 16 to get a permit in order to drive. But why wait, instead why don't i head over to Korea and get a license, actually my permit =]
hi korean friends I like how you guys determine one's age but it is better to have 14 years instead of 15 because then you will be older. so I will prefered my western age. so how old are you guys?
